New Age Design Studio was founded by Sasha Burchuk in 2017.
The work produced in the studio is heavily influenced by her unconventional upbringing in various New Age cults in the 1980s and 1990s, and her desire to explore and unpack the mythologies and materialism associated with their spiritual practices.
Sasha has worked as a concrete fabricator for many years and designs in a number of other mediums as well. She is also a distant relative of Paul and Morris Secon, the original founders of Pottery Barn.
New Age Design Studio's mission is to make the world a more exotic place by creating daring and mood-enhancing functional art objects. Every object that comes out of the studio is intended to live a double life as a functional piece and a portal into another reality.
The studio has appeared in Interior Design Magazine, Domino, Sight Unseen, Gray Magazine, Architectural Digest, Design Milk, The Glossary, Broccoli, Cult Classic, and Portland Monthly's Design Annual. Domino named us one of the 16 up-and-coming designers to watch in 2018. New Age Design Studio has exhibited at Open Haus Portland, IDS Vancouver, ShowPDX, Address Vancouver, Renegade Craft and West Coast Craft and was honored to be a recipient of a scholarship to exhibit at West Coast Craft twice in 2019.
